Sam has passed on his knowledge, craftsmanship and techniques to his crew, a band of talented individuals that share the deep love for all things swords. This personal passion keeps Castille Armory on the forward edge of high-end sword building. Because quality and attention to detail are everything in a niche’ market, every craftsperson at Castille Armory fences. Mostly because we love the sport, but it’s that hands-on approach that means we design your sword as if it were our own.

Historical Design, Modern Features

First HEMA gear was designed by us in 2007 for Fechtschule Gdańsk, with Andrzej Zmuda Trzebiatowski and Jan Chodkiewicz. From that time such groups and HEMA teachers are our consultants in creating dedicated clothing and overlays. In the course of time we have extended our activity with products for training based on treaties. Then, in 2010, SPES Historical Fencing Gear came to existence. The lengthy experience made us a leader in the the most durable and comfortable HEMA gear in the world. Even today we are regularly being mentioned in HEMA gear ranks.

Krieger Armory

Krieger Armory takes pride in producing high quality swords for HEMA practitioners and sword enthusiasts

Krieger Armory started as a passion project in 2017 by Shawn Kreger and was officially founded in 2020. Early on, prototype Feders were sent to several members of HEMA clubs locally and abroad. We gained invaluable feedback, which we used to create an arsenal. We create highly reliable and functional swords for Hema practitioners, and we prioritize handling and safety, as well as clean lines and simple beauty. All of our swords are made at our shop located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
